New Mexico
Summer Enrichment Internship Program
2021

STORIES  //  PHOTOS  //  VIDEO

Celebrating a Summer of Success:
More than 1300 Interns and 300 Mentors statewide!
The College and Career Readiness Bureau (CCRB) of the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) launched the Summer Enrichment Internship Program in the summer of 2021. The federal government committed more than $9.89 million for the program as part of pandemic relief efforts. Under the program, funding covered the cost of summer internships for New Mexico high school students in June-September of 2021 only. The goal was to provide high school students and at-risk youth with the opportunity to participate in
high-quality internships (20 hours per week for 6 weeks) with government agencies and
community organizations, including county, tribal, and/or municipal placements.
